How To Apply

Inquiries are accepted continuously, and funding decisions are made each quarter. Potential applicants are invited to email inquiries directly to info@mathesonfoundation.ca along with the amount of funding requested

This will allow your organization to introduce your work and determine whether your charitable organization may be eligible to apply for a grant. All applicants must include the organizations legal name and CRA Registration number.

What Makes a Strong Application

  • Clearly state the amount requested and exactly how it will be used.
  • Explain who benefits and roughly how many people or families you expect to reach.
  • Show how your project aligns with one of our funding focus areas.
  • Include your organization’s legal name and CRA registration number.
  • Note your timeline and any other funding sources already secured or in progress.

Timeline

  1. Submit anytime. Inquiries are accepted continuously — there’s no application deadline.
  2. Quarterly review. Our board reviews all applications together each quarter.
  3. Notification. You’ll hear from us shortly after each quarterly review, whether or not your application was successful.

Grant size: Amounts vary based on the scope and needs of each project — there’s no fixed minimum or maximum.
